Wine Tasting Class with Eileen M. Duffy at Sea Love Sea Salt Farm: Saturday, October 4, 2-4 pm

$85.00

Come enjoy a beautiful afternoon at a wine tasting class with Eileen M. Duffy at Sea Love Sea Salt Farm in Burgaw, NC. After the tasting enjoy a tour of the salt farm, the pond, and stay to mingle with friends. Appetizers provided after the tasting. This event is a zero waste event. Tickets are $85 per person which includes the wine tasting, tour of the farm and salt-making process, a salt tasting and appetizers.

Our guided wine class led by Eileen M. Duffy will walk you through the foundation of professional wine tasting using the Wine & Spirit Education Trust's Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine (WSET).

The approach covers assessing the wine's color, aroma, alcohol level, body, flavors and finish to learn what those things can tell you about a wine. With this information, you'll be able to determine the wine's quality, which is what makes people want to buy it.

To keep it fun, we will blind taste four wines: a sparkling, a rosé, a white and one red. At the end we'll see what everyone likes and how much they'd pay for them before the big reveal. All wines can be found for purchase in Wilmington.

Eileen M. Duffy holds a Level 4 Diploma from the WSET, owned a wine shop in Westhampton Beach, NY, and has been writing about wine for 20+ years. Her book on Long Island wine, Behind the Bottle: The Rise of Wine on Long Island, is available on Amazon. She is the publisher of Edible Port City magazine.

Sea Love Sea Salt Company makes culinary sea salt from ocean water gathered at Wrightsville Beach, NC and sunlight. Owners Jeanette Philips and Jason Zombron in addition to hosting the event will give a guided tour of their salt farm at the end of the event.
